Final Expense Insurance

Cover funeral and end-of-life costs so your family never has to.

Final expense insurance is small-face-amount whole life coverage — typically $5,000 to $50,000 — designed specifically to pay for a funeral, burial or cremation, medical bills, and the smaller debts that fall to a family in the weeks after a loss.

Why families buy it

The median cost of a funeral with burial now runs well past $8,000 once a vault, headstone, and service are included. Without a plan, that expense lands on a grieving spouse or adult child, often on a credit card.

A final expense policy never expires, the premium never increases, and the benefit is paid quickly and in cash to the person you name — free to be used for anything, not just the funeral home.

Simplified and guaranteed issue

Most applicants qualify for simplified issue: a short health questionnaire, a prescription history check, and no physical exam. Approval often comes the same day. Applicants with serious recent health events may qualify for a guaranteed issue policy with a two-year graded benefit period instead.

Choosing the right amount

Price out the funeral you actually want, add any outstanding medical or credit obligations, and add a modest cushion for the family. Over-buying wastes premium; under-buying leaves the gap you set out to close.
